I'm very sad to learn of John's passing. Between 2002 and 2008 I did my PhD and post doctoral research in the field of prostate cancer, throughout which John was an inspirational mentor. John's breadth of technical knowledge and kind hearted nature were invaluable to me and shaped the way I approach my scientific research today.
